Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a born-and-raised Michigander falling in love Central Virginia!
What brought you to Charlottesville?
In August of 2010 I packed up a U-Haul and drove from Ann Arbor, Michigan to live in Charlottesville. My boyfriend had moved here in July 2009 to begin work on an engineering PhD and I decided it was high time to join him.
Why did you decide to become a Future Fund Member?
Being part of the Future Fund seemed like a great way to expand my network in Charlottesville and to broaden my knowledge of the grant-making and fundraising world.
What is your favorite aspect of being a member?
I'm excited to be on the philanthropist side of fundraising - giving out the money to programs as opposed to raising it!
Three things you can't live without?
Vegetables, a project to work on, and coffee.
Favorite Local Hangout?
Too many to count. The Main Street Market has great shops - before I started at UVA I worked at the Seasonal Cook, which is an awesome store. And if Fridays after Five happened all year, you wouldn't hear me complaining.
