Committee-Advised funds

Several individuals donate money to CACF to create a committee-advised fund. Once the fund is established, the group may make recommendations about disbursing funds to local nonprofit organizations.
 
Committed-advised funds administered by the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation include:

Bama Works Fund – Established by Dave Matthews Band to provide support to local, regional, and national charities.

Nelson County Community Fund – (2007) Supports various charities in Nelson County.

Community Children's Theater Fund – (2008) Supports organizations interested in providing educational performing arts opportunities to local youth.
  
Thomas Jefferson Community Workforce Housing Fund – (2006) Established by the City of Charlottesville, Piedmont Housing Alliance and the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors to provide downpayment assistance for first-time homebuyers.
