Giving Opportunities

The CACF staff are always learning about interesting projects for which nonprofit organizations are seeking funding.

The list below, “Giving Opportunities,” is an attempt to make the broader public aware of these projects.  It is continually updated and has proven to be a very effective way to help nonprofit organizations in our region.  If you have questions about any of the projects described below, please contact the nonprofit organization directly, or call the CACF office.  If you would like to submit an article to Giving Opportunities please contact Sofia Case, Donor Relations and Programs Assistant, at scase@cacfonline.org.

The National Ski and Board Safety Association

Last Updated Jul 2010

The National Ski and Board Safety Association is the newest winter sport injury prevention organization to hit the national scene. Sara Greenfield, lifelong skier, and USSA Masters Gold Medalist is the Executive Director and founder of this endeavor. Dedicated to winter sport safety messaging, and committed to providing educational and safety standards for the industry, Sara believes it is important to reach out to all areas of this sport, identify the weaknesses, and strengthen industry standards for a future of affordable, safe and environmentally friendly skiing and boarding experiences.

The NSBSA has several programs in need of funding at this time. They are in the process of redesigning its website, and blog, and look forward to the purchase of an online donor management system. Printed safety messaging is just a start. Custom software technology is needed to receive, and examine data, providing answers and guidelines enabling these sports as safe and affordable for the skiing and boarding public.

The research NSBSA has been doing for the past several years has shown a need for software technology integrating sport safety awareness programs, seminars, data research and development. The NSBSA believes more grassroots community outreach, and media will be needed. They look forward to partnering with regional and national associations providing research, and educational programs, As a new nonprofit start up, funding is key for these efforts to grow and become viable, thus Improving current industry safety standards, and creating winter sport injury prevention programs for years to come. Contact sara@nsbsa.net for program needs, volunteer opportunities and additional information.
