Giving Opportunities

The CACF staff are always learning about interesting projects for which nonprofit organizations are seeking funding.

The list below, “Giving Opportunities,” is an attempt to make the broader public aware of these projects.  It is continually updated and has proven to be a very effective way to help nonprofit organizations in our region.  If you have questions about any of the projects described below, please contact the nonprofit organization directly, or call the CACF office.  If you would like to submit an article to Giving Opportunities please contact Sofia Case, Donor Relations and Programs Assistant, at scase@cacfonline.org.

Blue Ridge Medical Center: New Facility

Last Updated Jun 2010

BRMC provides basic, necessary medical care to all residents, regardless of their ability to pay. BRMC is not a free clinic or an emergency department, but it does provide services to uninsured patients that helps alleviate some of the pressure felt by free clinics and emergency departments in both Charlottesville and Lynchburg. The mission of Blue Ridge Medical Center is to “provide quality health care to all people in Nelson County and neighboring communities and to improve their general health and well-being through prevention, education and treatment.”

Over the years, BRMC’s facility and services have grown in order to meet the increasing needs of its community. In October 2010, BRMC will break ground on a new facility adjacent to our current building. After completion and occupancy of the new building by October 2011, BRMC will turn its attention to the existing building, which will be renovated and updated to house the Rural Health Outreach Program (RHOP) and a six-chair dental clinic. Although BRMC has garnered a lot of support from our community and other funders (to whom we are extremely grateful), we still have a long way to go to reach our fully-funded goal.

So far $5,782,000 has been raised, more than 80% of our final goal. If you would like to learn more about our upcoming construction project or to support BRMC and RHOP in their expansion, please contact Peggy Whitehead or Liz Burnett at 434-263-4000 or liz@brmedical.com.
