Giving Opportunities

The CACF staff are always learning about interesting projects for which nonprofit organizations are seeking funding.

The list below, “Giving Opportunities,” is an attempt to make the broader public aware of these projects.  It is continually updated and has proven to be a very effective way to help nonprofit organizations in our region.  If you have questions about any of the projects described below, please contact the nonprofit organization directly, or call the CACF office.  If you would like to submit an article to Giving Opportunities please contact Sofia Case, Donor Relations and Programs Assistant, at scase@cacfonline.org.

Heritage Theatre Festival seeking funding for its 2010 summer season

Last Updated Jun 2010

Started in 1974, the Heritage Theatre Festival (HTF), in residence each summer at the University of Virginia, is a marquis summer theater event in central Virginia. The national scope of their talent base and the high production values that are the hallmarks of their work are the direct result of collaborations among professional, academic and student artists. Beyond the offering of quality theater entertainment that is paramount to the HTF mission, HTF is also the lab in which students work with and learn from experienced practitioners. HTF is one of the educational building blocks of the American theater of the future. Today’s audiences are the beneficiaries of their present work and future audiences will enjoy the results of their learning for decades.
HTF is currently seeking funding for its 2010 summer season of live theater. They’ll kick off with the classically beautiful and enduringly popular musical The Sound of Music, followed by Evan Bridenstine and John Paul Scheidler, reprising their multiple roles and creating new ones as the residents of our favorite small town, Tuna,Texas, where we’ll celebrate Christmas in July with the hilarious A Tuna Christmas.
Barefoot in the Park, the Neil Simon romantic comedy that so perfectly captures the ups and downs of newly married life follows and, finally, HTF will bring you The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, with its humorous and musical insights into making your mark in the world when you feel the odds are stacked against you. For more information about HTF, its long and successful history and its dynamic future, please visit the website at www.uvahtf.org .
