The Naomi Scherr Memorial Scholarship Fund

The North Branch School community had to face the unthinkable in November when word reached them that one of their former students, 13-year-old Naomi Scherr, and her father, Alan, were victims of the violence that rocked Mumbai in November 2008. Naomi had saved $500 towards her eagerly anticipated high school experience. With that money, her mother, Kia, established the Naomi Scherr Memorial Scholarship at North Branch School. Naomi attended North Branch during her elementary school years, and Kia sent these words with her donation: "Her years at North Branch were magical - filled with fun, inspired learning, creativity, and friendship. Thank you...for the contribution you make to the community and our world by being North Branch School." Donations to this fund will join with the gifts of others to honor the memory of a bright young girl with a charming smile, an insatiable curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and a kind heart.
