The Design Marathon is an event hosted by the Charlottesville Community Design Center in which teams of local professional designers donate 12 hours of pro bono design services to benefit 10 deserving local non-profit organizations. Design services range from logo design and marketing materials to site drawings and master plans. In its first year the Design Marathon leveraged the equivalent of over $57,000 in professional design services and over 750 hours of volunteer time, benefiting community groups like Children, Youth and Family Services, the Jefferson Area Food Bank and the Rivanna Conservation Society. Recognizing the tremendous role that design can play in helping local non-profits better serve our community, CCDC seeks funds to make the Design Marathon an annual event.
