People in conflict often do not know where to turn to get resolution, particularly when they are in an ongoing relationship with the other person: parents or siblings, co-parents, neighbors, co-workers, for example.
Mediation Center of Charlottesville (MCC) provides affordable and accessible dispute resolution services through mediation and education, enabling clients to transform conflict into an opportunity for growth and change. As a nonprofit, MCC offers confidential mediation services for many different kinds of disputes that can often be resolved amicably without resorting to litigation: custody/visitation; equitable distribution of property; estate settlements; business/consumer; landlord/tenant; neighborhood conflicts; and more.
All Mediation Center of Charlottesville mediators are Virginia Supreme Court-certified, and bring a wealth of experience to any mediation session. MCC is proud to offer sliding-scale fees based on each party's income, and are the only mediators in the Charlottesville area to do so.
MCC also offer parent education classes, for those parenting children from different homes. Co-Parenting: Making It Work is a one-time, four-hour class that enables separated and divorced parents to learn new skills, and shows how working together for the benefit of their children can be improved and even enjoyed.
The Mediation Center of Charlottesville welcomes donations to help them continue to offer excellent and affordable mediation services to the Greater Charlottesville region.
