The Bridge Ministry

Last Updated Sep 2009

Vocational training and business partnerships have long been an integral part of the Bridge Ministry program. Over the years, they have manufactured outsourced projects for businesses such as Dominion Virginia Power and National Optronics.

In the spring of 2008, they completed a new vocational-technical center on their Buckingham campus. It houses what is probably the most technically advanced auto body shop in the state of Virginia, and has additional facilities to expand our manufacturing services.

It is Bridge Ministry's goal to use this new facility to increase their ability to train the men who come here for the twelve- to eighteen-month program, instilling in them sound workplace skills, attitudes, and habits. Bridge Ministry also looks to these expanded programs to create a steady stream of income for their day-to-day operational budget, eventually enabling The Bridge to give to their community financially.

While these businesses are growing, they find themselves faced with a serious shortfall in regular giving, due in part to the realities of and concerns over current economic conditions. Their need is immediate and urgent. Bridge Ministry is looking for several individuals to stand with them during this critical transition period as they seek to achieve greater financial stability and independence in 2009 and beyond.
