The Charlottesville Future Fund is a giving circle of professionals in their 20’s through 40’s that pool their charitable dollars into a fund within CACF, and decide as a group each year which local nonprofits to support. The more members we have, the more money we can give back to the community!

The Charlottesville Future Fund had 96 members and gave away $30,000 in its inaugural year and membership is now open for year two.  

 Where can I join the Future Fund?

Currently, 102 members have signed up for the Future Fund’s second year. Our membership will remain open until August 25th. The inaugural member meeting will be on September 1st.

What is the new membership opportunity for the Future Fund?

A generous donor has offered to sponsor FIVE FUTURE FUND MEMBERSHIPS!  Prospective members who do not have the means to contribute financially will have the opportunity to apply to be a membership recipient. In lieu of a financial contribution, recipients will commit to donating their time to the Future Fund. They will be required to serve on a committee, and will donate their time by providing administrative assistance to the staff at the CACF office, participate in Future Fund volunteer service projects, volunteer at Future Fund social events or volunteer with Future Fund grant recipients. 

In order to be considered for a membership, please write an essay of no more than 500 words explaining why you would like to become a Future Fund member in Year Two. Please explain your circumstances as to why you are willing to give your time and what excites you about philanthropy. Deadline to apply is August 6th. Please submit your essay to scase@cacfonline.org.

How can I learn more about the Charlottesville Future Fund?

CACF will be holding one last information session on Thursday, August 5th at 10:00am. Join us at the CACF offices (114 4th Street SE) for a Coffee Recruitment Event.

This is not a formal presentation, but an opportunity for prospective members to ask us questions about being a member and our new membership opportunity. You will also have a chance to sign up for Year Two and enjoy complimentary coffee and pastries.
